Originals and Echoes

MIAD Gallery at The Ave presents an exhibition featuring NSP200B Singularity and Multiplicity course exhibition surrounding aura. Aura, as conceived by Walter Benjamin in his seminal essay “The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction,” is the unique aesthetic authority of an object in time and space. This is further identified through contemporary texts written by bell hooks, Hito Steyerl, and Audre Lorde. The works produced for Originals and Echoes establish how aura is presented in one’s practice.
